Curriculum and Schedule: 7 Day Camp
Richmond, VA – June 13-19, August 1-7 and August 15-21.
These camps are 6 full days, Sunday through Friday, and a half day Saturday. Classes are held in the beautiful, spacious studios of the Richmond Ballet. Morning classes include pilates, ballet technique, men's technique, pointe, pirouettes, men's and women's variations. Afternoon classes include pas de deux, performance class, stretching, jazz, modern, body alignment, and character. There are options for those preferring a shorter day. On the first day, you will take a placement class to confirm your level of proficiency. The program culminates with a performance of works learned in class. A list of instructors will be provided in your Welcome Packet.
Package Options
Short Day – Includes technique, pilates, pointe, men's, variations and lunch. Adding pas de deux and/or performance class is an option.
- Schedule:
- Sunday - All classes except Modern technique.
- Monday - Friday all morning classes. and Friday afternoon performance.
- Saturday - All morning classes.
- Add Pas de deux: Wednesday-Thursday afternoons, approximately 3 hours total.
- Add Performance Class: Monday-Thursday afternoons, approximately 6 hours total.
All Ballet - All ballet classes, pilates, performance class and pas de deux. and performance. Lunch included.
- Schedule:
- Sunday - All classes except Modern technique.
- Monday - Thursday all morning classes plus performance class each afternoon and pas de deux Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
- Friday - All morning classes and afternoon performance.
- Saturday - All morning classes.
Full Day - All classes, lunch and the performance included.

- 2:00 - 3:30 pm Performance Class or Pas de deux
- 3:45 - 5:00 pm Character, Jazz, or Pas de deux
- 5:00 - 6:00 pm Stretch or Lectures *
- Day 7
- 10:00 - 11:15 am Technique
- 11:30 - 12:15 pm Pirouettes
- 12:15 - 1:00 pm Men's class, Pointe or Stretch
- 1:00 - 2:00 pm Lunch
- 2:00 - 5:00 pm Dance photos for individuals (additional)
The performance (optional) will be on Friday afternoon. Celebration dinner will be Friday night. Class sizes vary, averaging 15-20 students.
Lodging
Hotel rooms are available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (804) 788-0900. A special rate of $88 per night + tax per room, including refrigerator, is available for single or double occupancy. Parking is available onsite for $10 per day. There is free downtown shuttle service available for hotel guests. The hotel will honor your group rate if you extend your stay. Lunch
Our caterer provides a wide selection of sandwiches, sides, salads and dessert options including vegetarian, low carb.. and vegan lunches. We can accommodate special diets for medical reasons.
Getting to Camp
Richmond International Airport (RIC) is 15 from the hotel. Taxis from the airport are readily available. Washington DCs Reagan and Dulles airports are about two hours away. A car is not necessary to enjoy your stay, but it is an added freedom. Richmond is an old city steeped in history and is home to numerous museums and Civil War sites. Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Charlottesville are nearby.
